چکیده

1928),3 to the reversal of the ciliary stroke on the lips of Metridium. In consequence of the relative abundance of glycogen in the meat of mussels such a response might have been anticipated. No reversal was obtained from ordinary starch or from glucose when these substances were applied to the lips of the sea-anemone as the glycogen was. I concdude that glycogen may be added to the short list of substances by which ciliary reversal in sea-anemones may be induced. 1 Parker, G. H., 1905a. Computational approach towards identification of pathogenic missense mutations in AMELX gene and their possible association with amelogenesis imperfecta

Amelogenin gene (AMEL-X) encodes an enamel protein called amelogenin, which plays a vital role in tooth development. Any mutations in this gene or the associated pathway lead to developmental abnormalities of the tooth. The present study aims to analyze functional missense mutations in AMEL-X genes and derive an association with amelogenesis imperfecta. The information on miss...

Mutations at Nucleotide 1762, 1764 and 1766 of Hepatitis B Virus X Gene in Patients with Chronic Hepatitis B and Hepatitis B-Related Cirrhosis

Abstract       Background and objective: Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is a DNA virus with high tendency toward hepatic tissue. There are currently about 3 million HBV-infected people and 350 to 400 million chronic carriers of this virus in the world. X protein plays a role in the over-expression of oncogenes, carcinogenicity of liver cells and overlaps with the basal co...

Study on KAL1 Gene Mutations in Idiopathic Hypogonadotropic Hypogonadism Patients with X-Linked Recessive Inheritance

Idiopathic hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (IHH) is a condition caused by low doses of hypothalamic gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) leading to absence or incomplete sexual maturation. One of the disorders leading to IHH is Kallmann syndrome which is characterized by GnRH deficiency with anosmia or hyposmia. This disorder generally occurs as a hereditary syndrome with X-linked recessive inhe...

Molecular Identification of the Most Prevalent Mutations of Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase (G6PD) in Fars and Isfahan of Iran

Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) in humans is in X-linked disorder, housekeeping enzyme and vital for the survival of every cell. It catalyses the oxidation of glucose-6-phosphate to 6-phospho Gluconat in the first committed step of the pentose phosphate pathway, which provides cells with pentoses and reducing power in the form of NADPH. NADPH is required to protect the cells against ox...
